Functions

The functions of the Landscape Observatory are:

• Collaborate with and advise the Administration (at all levels) and Catalan society on landscape issues.
• Generate knowledge and methodologies, and promote exchange between government, academia, professionals and civil society.
• Represent and consolidate itself as a meeting point between broad sectors of society (academic, political, professional, social, cultural, economic).
• Encourage the creation of spaces for dialogue, mediation and cooperation between government and civil society and between the public and private spheres.
• Identify and promote debate on relevant and emerging issues (through seminars, conferences, publications, etc.).
• Include landscape priorities in the political agenda.
• Consolidate itself as a research and documentation centre.
• Follow up international initiatives and cooperate with institutions and organisations worldwide.
