A compilation of initiatives and projects aimed at promoting and defending industrial landscapes. In this sense, only initiatives with an active website have been included. Unfortunately, this criterion inevitably excludes other interesting initiatives that do not have a website.
Europe
European project financed by Interreg funds to protect industrial heritage, especially in Central and Atlantic Europe as the heart of the industrial revolution, and to foster its preservation as an engine for regional development.
Initiative that aims to preserve the memory of industrial methods, processes and (in some cases) landscapes by creating documentary videos, which can be found on the same website.
Inter-regional initiative underpinning 14 different institutions as part of the Council of Europe's cultural route programme in order to favour the connection of different assets related to industrial iron heritage on both sides of the Pyrenees.

Old industrial steel macro-complex that has been rehabilitated and turned into a park that combines nature and industrial heritage devoted to many uses: business, sporting, recreational, etc.
Italy
Project to rehabilitate the old mining complex of Grande Miniera di Serbariu, recovering it for educational purposes and to turn it into a museum. Distinguished with the Landscape Award in 2011 from the Council of Europe, this initiative was promoted by the Centro Italiano della Cultura del Carbone.
United Kingdom
Blog of a volunteer project to assist tasks to conserve and spread information about the industrial landscapes of Blaenavon, a town declared World Heritage by UNESCO for its industrial landscape.
International
Chile
Initiative carried out in this mining city in the Chilean Andes, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, which aims to use industrial tourism to enhance development of the area beyond its mining activity. Sewell stands out for the notable transformation of its landscape caused by mining activity.
United States
Initiative of the Municipal Art Society of New York to preserve the industrial heritage of the borough of Brooklyn due to the considerable damage brought about in recent years for residential construction.
Spain
Project promoted by the University of Seville together with the Ministry of Science and Innovation to develop a catalogue of good practices to conserve industrial heritage, considering the landscape where it is found and contributing to the social and economic development of the surroundings at the same time.
Nationwide plan managed by the General Directorate for Fine Arts and Cultural Assets of the Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain, created with the aim of conserving and publicising information about this industrial heritage and its landscapes.
Andalusia
Extensively documented project to recover, conserve, protect and publicise the mining heritage and landscape of Linares and La Carolina.
Initiative of the Government of Andalusia's Ministry of Public Works and Housing aimed at updating knowledge to conserve the architecture and industrial landscapes of Andalusia. With information about industrial architectural recovery from all over the world.
Asturias
Project created as part of an effort to interpret the landscape of the mining valleys of Turón and Santa Bárbara in Asturias. It is aimed at improving understanding of the valleys and of the qualities of their landscape in order to generate creative ideas for scenic rehabilitation.
Murcia
Pilot project to restore the landscape and recover the mining heritage of Sierra Minera de Cartagena-La Unión, outfitting it for sustainable use by tourists.
The Basque Country
Project created as part of the urban development master plan for the old industrial district of La Ribera de Deusto-Zorrotzaurre, in Bilbao, in order to bring an artistic, innovative and creative perspective to the urban transformation process and turn the area into a point of reference for creation and innovation.
